Scarborough Photo Archive

Scarborough Photo Archive is a unique and extensive 'heritage' collection of previously unseen photos from Dobson’s Press Agency, founded in 1964 by the late photographer Dennis Dobson. Now re-branded, and curated by photographer and archivist Keith Meatheringham.

By purchasing photographs and wall art from this 'Heritage' collection, you are not only owning a piece of local history, you are helping fund the preservation of thousands more unseen images, ensuring the memories, stories and heritage of our communities are protected and shared for years to come, leaving a lasting legacy for future generations.

Many thanks

Documentary Photography

For over thirty years, Keith Meatheringham has been documenting the world, and people around him.

This gallery allows you to take a look into his own creative & documentary photography.

These photos are just a small sample of his 35 years career as a press photographer, capturing fleeting moments in time.

Originally from Gloucestershire, he became a press photographer before moving to Scarborough in 1994 to work for the Dobson Agency, now Scarborough Photo Archive.

His work has appeared in national newspapers and magazines worldwide, and he has run the archive since 2004.

Landscapes & Nature

A small selection of Landscape and Nature Photographs by Photographer and Archivist Keith Meatheringham.

I love this planet and the nature around us and enjoy capturing images when out walking the Dog. I'm never far from water – Being next to a stream, river, lake or sea is my happy place!
